Dr. Frank Dentremont (“Dr Dee”) has been practicing dentistry for almost 34 years, the last 10 here on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. He was born and raised near Bangor, Maine, the son of Frank Sr. (a WWII veteran and an engineer) and Ramona (a school teacher). As a youngster, he loved the outdoors and sports, lettering in three sports in high school. From his parents, he learned to love academics and finished second in his high school class, earning a scholarship to Boston University in 1973. He was fortunate enough to remain in Boston, getting selected from out of nearly 4,000 candidates to attend the prestigious Tufts School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Dentremont graduated in three years from Tufts, returning to Maine in 1980 to practice.
His first stop was near his hometown, a small “one-traffic-light” town, where he learned to become a true general dentist, since the nearest specialist was 100 miles away! When the paper mill in his hometown closed in 1991, he moved to Bangor, Maine and stayed there until 2003, when he moved to the Gulf Coast. Dr. Dentremont worked in Foley until Hurricane Ivan severely damaged his home in 2004, then worked at a children’s dental clinic in Mobile. He later built his own office in Orange Beach in 2007, but the economic repercussions of the BP oil spill forced him to close his doors in early 2011. Since then, he has worked in Foley, Dothan and Montgomery before being welcomed into the Sensible Dental family in the fall of 2013. Dr Dentremont has thousands of hours of continuing educational classes to ensure you that he stays on top of the latest innovations in dentistry. You can trust in his skills, talent and experience to make sure that your visit to Sensible Dental at Fairhope will be a great one!
